Services Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) were initially developed to perform basic sequencing. This task was originally carried out by relay based control panels, as they have developed within the industry and with the introduction of SCADA and HMI Graphical User Interfaces (GUI). The requirements have expanded to providing control and management functionality. Since this time PLC's have reduced the number of relay’s required to control today's processes, as well as improving the control and flexibility that we now have over our machinery. Specialized Controls, Inc. leads the industry with our programming capabilities. Key Benefits
All modes of machine control require engineering, whether a small brick type PLC or a full blown automated control system integrated with a PLC, Servo, and Drives. Older systems may be reengineered to improve productivity, down time, or eliminate the fear of an old system failing when it is needed most. New systems require aggressive engineering to use the best mix of cost and performance out of all the products available in the automation industry today. Key Benefits
Specialized Controls, Inc. has extensive experience and training on repair of industrial devices used in the market place today, including all types of motor controls, including Variable Frequency Drives, Direct Current drives, and Servo drives as well as the ability to quickly understand your control system and identify the problem. Specialized Controls, Inc. has over 15 years of experience trouble shooting control systems. When it comes to critical down time you should want the best on your side. Key Benefits
Frequently Asked QuestionsWhat experience do you have with PLC's? I have over 14 years experience programming PLC's and over 19 years of programming experience. Some competitors hire electricians and technicians as PLC programmers when they have little actual programming experience. Although it is admirable all the skills these electricians and technicians have, our programmers are engineers or have many years of full-time PLC programming experience. PLC programming is not something that we do only a few times a year -- it is something we do year round. What industries have you done PLC work in? Since most projects require a PLC we have therefore done PLC work in most industries. For a complete list of industries we have worked in please go to the Industries page. What is the smallest PLC job you have done? A press that had three outputs (part clamp, raise and lower part bender) and a six inputs (two cycle start palm buttons, part bend raised and lowered, part clamp extended and retracted). We have done PLC projects with no I/O! They were used as communication gateways that translate data from one industrial network to another. |
